Teaching a kids yoga class is all about having fun and learning through play. But it won’t be any kind of play - there is always plan.
Like with any other subject that is to be learnt, there is a curriculum and steps to follow. You want the kids to leave the room with a strong takeaway after each lesson; after all, you are doing this because you believe Yoga will give them important tools for their life. So it is important that the concepts are learnt and remain in their heads.
The size of the class matters. The plan won’t be the same for a classroom composed of five children versus a classroom with thirty children.
The age of the class matters.
You won’t teach the same concepts to a three year old than you would to a thirteen year old.
The duration of the class matters. You won’t fit in the same activities in a twenty minute long class versus what you would in a forty-five minute long class.

So preparation for your session is KEY. Age, size of classroom, duration of lesson, environment, time of the year, are all aspects to take into consideration when preparing your class.
